Abstract:
This study explores the notion of the transcended human being through the philosophies of Friedrich Nietzsche and Amadou Hampâté Bâ. It is situated within the context of a crisis of contemporary humanity, revealed by existential diagnosis. This crisis is characterized by the growing prevalence of mediocrity, rooted in ideological conformity and the weakening of the individual’s critical epistemic, and spiritual capacities. This crisis which reflects a certain degeneration of the human, calls for reflection on the condition of its overcoming. It is from this perspective that the philosophies of Friedrich Nietzsche and Hampâté Bâ emerge as resources for thinking about the paths towards the elevation of the human being. While Nietzsche uncovers, through morality and passive nihilism, the forces that lead to decadence, Hampâté highlights, through the rupture with traditional values and the loss of rootedness in the sacred, the mechanisms of human degeneration. These two philosophies thus propose models of transformation based on the will to power and the transvaluation of values in Nietzsche, and on initiation and spiritual maturation in Hampâté Bâ. Through a critical, hermeneutic, and comparative approach, this study brings Zarathoustra and Hammadi into dialogue as two figures of the metamorphosis of the spirits. We will show that their confrontation makes it possible to think of the transcended human as a being perpetual becoming, capable of breaking free from forms of mediocrity in order to attain a more conscious, creative and elevate existence. The transcended human thus appears as a possibility of regeneration of humanity. Keywords: Crisis, Education, Initiation, Mediocrity, Will to Power, Transcended human.
